What happens when you get your nails filled?

i got accrylic nails on aboubt 2 and a hlaf weeks ago and i want to get them filled. what happens when you get them filed? do you get them cut down?What happens when you get your nails filled?
when you get them filled they


1. first take off your current polish


2. then they use this electric filler it is rounded and they run it over your whole nail this thins the acrylic down.


3. then they file the end of the nail down to the original length.


4. after this they take the acyclic powder and brush it over the nail like they did when you first had them done.


5. they continue the process like the first time you had them done.

They usually just apply more acrylic on top to even out the nail so you don't have that gap (as a result of your nail growing) between your nail bed and the fake nail. They can file the nail down for you but they can't clip/cut the nail as it would crack.
