Can artficial nails be used while recovering from a fungus infection?

I had acrylic nails and somehow picked up a fungal infection. It seems to be under control but is not gone yet. Someone suggested using artificial plastic nails while recovering. Don't know if this is helping or not. Also does anyone know of any tricks to have decent looking real nails if I give up the artificial ones entirely? I work in a medical office and decent looking hands are almost a have-to. I have VERY weak, flaky raggy real nails. Thanks for any tips. Can artficial nails be used while recovering from a fungus infection?
No. You can't put nails on while trying to get rid of a fungal infection. You can't treat it if you have fake nails covering the nail plate, and you're also providing a breeding ground for further infection.

Don't even paint your nails while treating the infection unless it is the treatment polish, which is clear (gotten at Sallys). Can artficial nails be used while recovering from a fungus infection?
u can use fake nails, but your real nails need time to heal properly before you cover them again. in the meantime, try using opi nail envy, and keeping your nails well groomed. give it some time, and your nails will look great again.

the website for the nail envy is www.opi.com. a little pricey, but made my nails beautiful!
dont use plastic nails while u r recovering. n a good way 2 make your nails look good r 2 file them n put nail hardner on n then make a decision if u r gonna wear the nails anymore or not
no its not recommended that you wear nail enhancements while treating a fungal infection....the fungus 9 times out of 10 didnt come from the enhancement itself....you can truly ONLY get a fungus infection if the nail tech isnt properly sanitizing their emplements....the nail where the fungus is needs to breath and be treated properly with medication....you can get this medication from a pharmacy or from a beauty supply store like sally's....you can also try a product for stronger nails by hard as nails(which you can also get from walgreens or cvs)hope this helps
