How do you whiten nails with a nail pencil ?

Hi ive nail whitener pencil but not sure how to use it, do you just paint at the back of the nail tip to show through white, Im not to sure how to do it. This is how I normally do it, I get the pencil and go underneath the top of the nail, but the thing is the pencil doent last long.

Yes, I go under the nail with the pencil. It works better if you dampen or lick the pencil first.
nah just use a lemon and some baking soda...scrub scrub scrub...now THAT'S white!
