How can i cut a bunny's nails with dark nails?

My bunny nails are too dark to see and i do not want to pay the vet fee what should i do plz helpHow can i cut a bunny's nails with dark nails?
My friend has a rabbit that has nails like that. It is really hard to see the quick, and obviously she doesn't want to pay 50 dollars to get them trimmed and stuff like that. What we do it we either guess or look really closely. On some of the nails you can see the quick, but on others you can't. Just do the ones you can see, and then look at the length you did, and do the same length for the rest. How can i cut a bunny's nails with dark nails?
My bunny's nails are also dark and its very hard to see if you're cutting them too short. What we do, instead of trimming his claws, is we have a smooth type of sandpaper in his cage - not everywhere - only in one spot that we know he passes every now and then. Our bunny is quite active and runs up and down his ramp a lot during the day and that keeps his claws trimmed.
If you look really close and in the light you can see the quick. We take off a bit at a time until the interior becomes smaller. When it becomes smaller you are getting closer to the quick.

If you take off the tips at least once every 2 weeks then you should never have to worry about it.
You need to have a vet show you how to cut them and you can do it yourself.
